• If, after launching Infoseer from the icon on your desktop, the application fails to run or automatically returns you to this Support page, you may not have Java installed on your system. Infoseer requires Java 1.2 or Higher, you can download it free at http://www.java.com/.

• How can I change the default web site when Infoseer starts? In the Infoseer folder, go to "ishelp" folder, open the file "properties.html". Locate "startURL", then change the value to any web site, example: http://www.business.com/
  
• Infoseer is not a full pledge browser and does not support frames, javascript or third-party browser plug-ins such as Flash, etc. It does however support HTML format.
  
• Keyword search passive and reactive filtering only supports text and not words embedded in a graphic image
  
• Always remember as you are highlighting the header/content, do not forget to set the proper data categories (Corporate, Finance, Marketing, etc.) before saving them to the database.
  
• As for automated news feed retrieval from your web account, the data must be in News Industry Text Format (NITF/XML) Standard.
  
• If Infoseer fails to start and gives you an error message looking for the database server, run the MySQL Database Server on your desktop, Infoseer installation should have automatically place the icon on your desktop. If its not there, click "Start", "Run", "Browse", click pull down "Look in", "C:\MySQL\bin"-> choose "winmysqladmin.exe", then click "Open", "Ok". Then re-run the Infoseer application.
